Think of Mat Pilates as a weekly MOT for your body. In class we learn how to align our joints so we can move as efficiently and easily as possible — building strength, stamina and a deeper connection to how your body moves.
Barre
Find muscles you never knew existed by stretching, bending, pulsing and shaking with the support of the barre, hand weights and the beat! Perfect to enhance running, cycling, weight lifting and everyday activity, as well as increasing the heart rate via safe, low impact moves.

Jo’s classes are great. A different prop every time and plenty of humour to motivate us through the challenging bits! Jo is an excellent teacher. She knows her stuff and teaches it very well.
Really great classes that are super accessible. Jo is approachable if you are having issues or struggling with anything, and is really encouraging even when you might be flailing around like a stranded porpoise during mat pilates. I've managed to stick with it far longer than any other class I've tried before. 100% recommend.
Jo is AMAZING! Her barre and dynamic pilates classes are a brilliant work out and a lot of fun. Lots of levels offered to match your energy level and a really friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend.
I start classes feeling heavy in my joints and muscle. By the end of every session I can't believe how fluid and light and calm my body feels!
I have a recurring stiff and painful hip. By the end of classes it's lovely and loose. I also find I walk more upright - I can't wait to do more!
Jo is an outstanding instructor. Her instructions are incredibly clear, and every class feels thoughtfully structured and purposeful. She offers great modifications for all abilities, so you always feel supported whether you’re a beginner or more experienced. There’s a genuine community feel in the classes, with a warm, welcoming environment that makes every session something I look forward to. Couldn’t recommend more!
Best classes in Bristol. Jo is so lovely and funny, she really makes the classes enjoyable and they are addictive! I have seen huge improvements to my strength and fitness since joining.
I’d never done Barre before so didn’t know what to expect, but Jo explains the movements clearly and offers directions on technique. It’s a challenging class, even for a veteran fitness goer, but there are scalable options throughout. The best thing about the class though, is that it is fun. I consistently get the arm and leg movements out of sync, and we all just giggle about it.
I was worried starting Barre as I'm 56 but with Jo's support I always leave the class feeling motivated and energised. Everyone is friendly and welcoming.
Barre with Jo is always just the right balance of fun and challenge. She has also helped me to adapt movements in pregnancy so that I can carry on exercising safely. I would absolutely recommend her classes to anyone!
I started Barre with Jo to try something new and I love it, I can’t recommend it enough. She’s so professional, smiley and she definitely gets us working- I love feeling the burn!
Since doing barre with Jo, I feel stronger and fitter. She's so welcoming and friendly and always offers helpful modifications for anyone that needs them. Most of all, her classes are fun!

About your instructor
I have been passionate about movement from the age of 2 and a half. Back then it took the form of dancing which I then made my career - initially performing and then teaching. Keeping strong, fit and flexible is pretty important for this and, like a true child of the 90s, I started out doing my mum’s Jane Fonda tapes in the living room alongside her.
I found Pilates in 2007, becoming a qualified teacher in 2009 to complement my dance teaching. The precise, flowing and above all - logical - movements have kept my body injury free through dancing, marathon running, cycling as well as more recently IVF/pregnancy + childbirth. I am qualified in Reformer and Springboard Pilates as well as pregnancy and other specialist Pilates types.
Barre came along in 2015 and the combination of the two is not only ideal for clients but for me as a teacher too. My most recent discovery is the world of fascia - something totally new to me despite 25 + years in the industry. It truly is the missing link!
